Dolls on ATC

I had a lot of fun putting together these dolls. Although I love to make ATCs, the size was the true challenge this time, as my dolls were too big at first. But in the end, I was really pleased with how they turned out. The hostess received my ATCs today and they were already swapped out. Too curious what I’ll receive back…

Es hat total Spaß gemacht, diese Figuren zusammenzustellen. Obwohl ich total gern ATCs mache, war die Größe diesmal eine echte Herausforderung, weil meine Figuren am Anfang zu groß dafür waren. Mit dem Ergebnis bin ich letztendlich aber sehr zufrieden. Die Veranstalterin hat meine ATCs heute bekommen und auch schon wieder verteilt. Jetzt bin ich echt gespannt, was ich zurück bekomme…

Packen wirs an

This card was made for a ketting at non-cute, where we were challenged to use a technique we always wanted to try out, or a colour combo which is unusual for us, or a theme we usually wouldn’t deal with. What a great idea!
I chose a technique I wanted to try ever since I saw it on Hermine’s blog and that was quite a while back. I really like how it turned out and will certainly use this technique again. What’s even better: I can finally tick this one off my to do list.

Diese Karte ist für ein Ketting bei non-cute entstanden, bei dem es darum ging, eine Technik anzuwenden, die wir schon lange mal ausprobieren wollten, oder eine Farbkombination, die ungewöhnlich für uns ist, oder ein Thema, dass man sonst nicht anpackt. Was für eine tolle Idee!
Ich habe mich für eine Technik entschieden, die ich ausprobieren wollte, seit ich sie auf Hermines Blog gesehen habe und das ist echt schon eine ganze Weile her.  Das Ergebnis gefällt mir und es war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal, dass ich diese Technik verwendet habe. Aber noch viel besser ist, dass ich es endlich von meiner To-Do-Liste streichen kann.

Praha

Der Beitrag zur Reise um die Welt nach Prag ist mir echt schwer gefallen. Mehrere Ideen habe ich wieder verworfen und am Ende ist diese Karte mit der Karlsbrücke und den Kafka-Denkmälern dabei herausgekommen.

I had a hard time finishing my contribution for “Travel around the World” to Prague. Several ideas were discarded again, and eventually I came up with this card showing the Charles Bridge and the Kafka memorials.

Matrjoschka

It was wet, cold and uncomfortable outside, so I cozied myself up inside. During the day  I also managed to finally finish this Matryoshka, for which my swap partner had been waiting for ages.

Draußen war es heute nass, kalt und ungemütlich, so dass ich es mir drinnen gemütlich gemacht habe. Dabei ist dann auch endlich diese Matrjoschka fertig geworden, auf die meine Swap-Partnerin schon eine kleine Ewigkeit wartet.

SaWo – UTEE

I haven’t used UTEE for quite a while. But that’s exactly what I like about the technique challenge at Saturday’s Workout – you come to think outside your box. For this card, I applied several layers of UTEE to a piece of cardstock, which I folded after the UTEE had dried. This made the cracks appear, which were coloured with a copper ink pad afterwards.

Mit UTEE habe ich schon eine ganze Weile nicht mehr gearbeitet. Aber das ist ja auch das Tolle an der Technik-Challenge bei Saturday’s Workout – man denkt mal quer und macht etwas, das man sonst vielleicht nicht machen würde. Für diese Karte habe ich mehrere Schichten UTEE auf ein Stück Cardstock aufgetragen und die Karte anschließend geknickt. Dadurch sind die Risse entstanden, die ich im Anschluss mit einem kupferfarbenen Stempelkissen eingefärbt habe.

TGIF – Masked Ball

The theme at Thank God It’s Friday is centered around masks, carnival, the “fifth season”, as it is called in the German strongholds of carnival. A wonderful theme! I really like the stamp above (Stempelmine) and have used it quite often in several projects. The background is made with a page from an old book and gesso.

Bei Thank God It’s Friday geht es um Masken, Karneval, die fünfte Jahreszeit. Ein tolles Thema!  Den obigen Stempel (Stempelmine) mag ich total gern und er ist bei mir auch schon ziemlich oft zum Einsatz gekommen. Hintergrund ist eine Buchseite, auf die ich Gesso aufgetragen habe.

One World ~ One Heart

On a last minute decision I joined the third annual One World ~ One Heart (OWOH) event hosted by Lisa Swifka. The idea is to bring bloggers together from around the world.
All you have to do is leave a comment here no later than 11 February 2009. You do NOT need to have a blog to sign up. You only need to leave your e-mail address. I will be giving away this hanger with inchies. The front is made of orange cotton, while the back is turquoise. I used a page from an old German book for the background of the inchies.
